Chilli Chicken Wet

It was a Sunday afternoon and I was craving for some spicy food; Hubby offered me for a nice Sunday lunch outside but I was lazy to get ready n go out to eat; Instead I preferred to stay home n prepare something easy and quick;

In this process, I have stepped into kitchen looking for what to make; I came up with this simple yet delicious chilli chicken wet which goes well with any flavored rice;
 Ingredients:
1.    ½ lb chicken cut into 1’ pieces, wash and keep aside
2.    Large Onion, sliced thin – 1
3.    Green Chilies, finely chopped – 3
4.    Garlic Cloves, crushed  - 4
5.    Ginger, finely chopped – 1 tbsp
6.    Salt, to taste
7.    Chili powder – ½ tbsp
8.    Pepper Powder   - ½ to 1 tbsp based on your spice level
9.    Turmeric – ¼ tbsp
10. Soy Sauce – 2 tbsp
11. Water – 1 cup
12. 1 tbsp corn starch mixed with 3 tbsp of water
13. Cooking oil – 2 tbsp
14. Cilantro – 2 tbsp
15. Spring onion – 2 tbsp

Method:
1.    Heat oil in a pan and sauté chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger till soft; Add chopped onions and fry until they turn light brown;
2.    Add chicken and stir-fry till chicken gets cooked;
3.    Add salt, turmeric, chilli powder, pepper and soy sauce and cook for few minutes;
4.    Add water and allow it to boil;
5.    Add corn starch mixture and stir till sauce thickens or comes to the right consistency; Cover it with lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes;
6.    Garnish with spring onion and cilantro;

Transfer the curry to a serving bowl and serve it with flavored rice or white rice based on your preference; I made vegetable fried rice to go with the chilli chicken and it was heaven J

Note: 1) I did not have spring onion during this preparation and hence did not add;
         2) You can also use ginger garlic paste if you lazy to chop ginger n garlic;
